By earning this certification, you will: 

  • Demonstrate your knowledge of Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity solutions. 
  • Showcase your understanding of how Microsoft SCI solutions deliver holistic, end-to-end cybersecurity capabilities. 

It is recommended that, as a candidate, you have familiarity with: 

  • Networking and cloud computing concepts. 
  • General IT knowledge or any general experience working in an IT environment. 
  • General understanding of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.

Skills Measured:

  • Describe the concepts of security, compliance, and identity (10–15%)
  • Describe the capabilities of Microsoft Entra (25–30%)
  • Describe the capabilities of Microsoft security solutions (35–40%)
  • Describe the capabilities of Microsoft compliance solutions (20–25%)

Passing Criteria: 

  • A passing score is 700 or greater.

Exam Duration:

  • 60 Minutes

Recertification:

  • Previously, Microsoft role-based and specialty certifications were valid for two years.
  • Starting June 2021, certifications are valid for one year, but they can be renewed online for free at Microsoft Learn.
  • The renewal window begins six months before the certification expires. During this window before the cert expires, you can take a free online assessment and get the certification extended by one additional year from the current expiration date.
  • Want the best of both worlds old and new? Certifications earned before June 2021 will be valid for two years and eligible for the new renewal process.
