The Certified Ethical Hacker is a professional certification provided by the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council). An ethical hacker is usually employed by an organization to to attempt to penetrate networks and/or computer systems, using the same methods as a hacker, for the purpose of finding and fixing computer security vulnerabilities.
The Certified Network Defense Administrator is the same certification as the CEH, designed for professionals working for a government agency.
The Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator is a professional certification also provided by the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council.) and focusing on network security investigations. Computer forensics is the application of computer investigation and analysis techniques to determine potential legal evidence. Evidence might be sought in cases such as theft of trade secrets, theft of intellectual property, and fraud.
