About the CMA: Certified MySQL Associate
The MySQL Certified Associate credential provides a foundation for further MySQL certification. Unlike other MySQL certifications, the Associate certification is not tied to any particular version of MySQL, but focuses on details of using MySQL that are universal no matter what version of the software you are using.
This training combines and covers materials from the following courses:
MySQL for Beginners (4 days)
- Understand the features and benefits of MySQL
- Be able to find information about products, support and training
- Be able to install and start the MySQL server
- Understand the basics of Relational Databases
- Understand the SQL and MySQL languages
- Understand Data/Column types with regard to efficient database design
- Be able to view a database design structure/content
- Create a database design using an efficient structure
- Be able to extract basic database information using the SELECT command
- Be able to troubleshoot syntax and understand typical warnings and errors
- Be able to delete or modify a database
- Be able to delete or modify table row data
- Grouping query data with Aggregation
- Connect data from multiple table rows using JOIN
- Perform nested sub-queries
- Use of Simple Functions (String, Date, Numerical)
- Understand the primary methods for exporting and importing data
- Describe MySQL connectors, their major features and differences.
- Understand MySQL storage engines, transactions and features of the common engines

Bio:
Arthur has been an IT professional for over 30 years. After receiving his Bachelors in Computer Science from NYU, and Masters degree in Operations Research & Applied Mathematics from Columbia University, Arthur was recruited into the private IT sector. Upon starting his IT career path he quickly progressed into leadership roles as an engineer and developer for JP Morgan Chase.
With more than a decade of successful projects behind him, Arthur's love of academia brought him back to training, where he currently specializes in Java certification training and corporate software development. He holds numerous certifications including the Sun Certified Java Programmer, Sun Certified Web Component Developer, and Advanced PHP Programmer. I took the Java boot camp class. This class was excellent and the instructor was very knowledgeable. It taught all of the "Java Core" constructs. It was a small class and there was a lot of participation. I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking to learn Java and start programming, effectively immediately upon completion.
