8825: Microsoft Dynamics Point of Sale 2.0 Course Description
This two-day instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills to install, set up, configure, and implement Microsoft Point of Sale for processing point-of-sale and back-office tasks in a one-computer or multiple-computer retail business.
Intended Audience for the 8825: Microsoft Dynamics Point of Sale 2.0 Course- This course is intended for Partners and Customers with retail business operations experience and basic Microsoft Windows navigation skills.
8825: Microsoft Dynamics Point of Sale 2.0 Course Objectives
- Understand hardware and software requirements.
- Install Point of Sale in a one-computer or a multiple-computer store.
- Create a store owner account, and customize the main Manager window.
- Implement security and loss prevention measures.
- Run the Store Setup Wizard.
- Import item, customer, suppliers, and physical inventory information.
- Define store policies and procedures.
- Set store Options for point-of-sale, tenders, sales taxes, serial numbers, customers, inventory, and back up of the store database.
- Set up point-of-sale registers, devices, receipt formats, and line display messages.
- Create QuickPads and assign them to registers.
- Connect registers with the store database.
- Integrate accounting software.
- Configure electronic draft capture.
- Create and define currencies, tender types, sales taxes, departments and categories, suppliers, items, item messages, discounts, and customers.
- Implement database tools to maintain the store database, create a new database, and devise a disaster recovery plan.
- Import, organize, track, and manage inventory.
- Set up and manage departments, categories, and suppliers; create and import items; track and manage purchase orders, inventory transfers, and physical inventories.
- Create and manage employees, assign employee roles and rights, track employee hours, customize registers for each employee, and control cashier workflow.
- Create, import, track, manage, and contact customers.
- Implement built-in reports using display options and report filters, create custom reports, and customize capsule reports.
- Use Point of Sale POS for processing all point-of-sale procedures.
- Customize the Point of Sale POS screen for specific employees.
- Add, remove, and test POS hardware devices.
- Perform daily POS tasks, such as specifying opening and closing amounts, clocking in and out, changing system and display settings, changing register properties, reprinting receipts, switching to a different user, changing passwords, generating X, Z, and ZZ reports, and creating sales graphs.
- Process and tender sales transactions.
- Add, edit, remove, and discount line items and transactions.
- Process returns and exchanges.
- Find and handle items, customer, transactions, and receipts.
- Print item and address labels, and create label formats.
- Store, organize, and manage pictures, templates, and other files in File Center.
- Train employees in Practice Mode.
