Linux Installation and Configuration Course Description
This first course in the SAIR Linux and GNU Training and Certification program describes the unique software license that controls the software system called Linux. It covers the installation steps common to all Linux distributions, and it compares and contrasts up to eight Linux distributions that the students are required to install. The most frequently used commands are presented with examples. The X Window system is described and several graphical user interfaces (GUIs) are presented. A review of GUI applications and troubleshooting tips completes the course.
