Position Overview:

The ideal candidate is part of Executive Leadership team and offers tremendous visibility and growth with the CEO. Under general direction of the CEO, the CFO oversees the companies finance, bank relationship, investor relationship and administrative functions. This includes, growth fund raising, overall maintenance of budgeting, tax, accounting, audit, as well as administrative support services and staff functions.

The ideal candidate would be a technology-centric CPA that is willing to get involved in a hands-on, roll-up the sleeves, management position which will be a key driver in the coming years. company-wide growth. This person will play an integral role in defining systems and processes that will streamline the business across multiple functional areas. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who will be a key contributing team member of our newly formed licensing company that is profitable and growing in leaps and bounds.

Position Duties:

  • Develops and directs the company's finance and administrative functions, including bookkeeping, budgeting, tax, accounting, audit, IT, purchasing and various other financial department and administrative support services.
  • Manages and maintains complex business financial model and reviews working capital/cash flow requirements on a regular basis.
  • Assists the CEO in establishing financial strategic objectives as well as operating policies and procedures to ensure attainment of organizational objectives.
  • Develops operating policies and procedures in support of the organization's strategic and business objectives.
  • Works with CEO to establish performance management and evaluation programs as well as reward systems to aid operating divisions in attaining objectives.
  • Maintains relationships with banks and other external financial institutions.
  • Directs, manages and controls finance, legal, and administration to ensure that they are appropriately developed and proficiently carrying out their responsibilities to the required standards.
  • Works closely with appropriate senior management regarding due diligence and negotiations on all major deals and provides support on terms and conditions. Assists CEO in protecting and enhancing the company's investments in subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Serves as a key member of the senior management team in setting strategic direction of company.
  • Ensures adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass an independent audit.
  • Works in conjunction with the CEO to develop and maintain an operating budget.
  • Works with the CEO to ensure success through cost analysis support, and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements.
  • Oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, and development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
  • Monitors banking activities of the organization.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively direct the company's divisions to attain corporate objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial and legal principles and practices. Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • "Roll-up the sleeves", self-starter that is able to work independently and in a small team.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in financial role supporting critical organization decision making
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA is a plus
  • CPA is strongly preferred
  • Corporate investment experience is strongly perferred.
  • Microsoft Great plan experience is a plus
  • Auditing experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Oracle or similar system is helpful
