Lashinsky also discussed how Apple created one brand and united its team under one brand. Part of how Apple did that was by saying no to opportunities that could take the business off course.
Other lessons from Apple include the message to value an employee's expertise by keeping them focused on what they do best; the importance of crafting, controlling and owning the brand's message; spending what it takes to delight customers; and believing the company can put out an insanely great product, rather than letting next quarter's numbers limit the product.
